In 1987, Lacy conducted an interactive piece of work which was broadcasted live on television. 430 women over the age of 60 gathered to express their views on growing older. Lacy had women representing from all sorts of ethic and social backgrounds, as well as achievements to form an active comment on older women in the media.
The ‘performance’ shown above, broadcasted on Mother’s Day 1987 in Minneapolis.
The piece also exists as a real-life quilt made by Lacy, representing the table layout where the women were sat, discussing the matter in groups.
